Season 2 of Lanterns hasn’t been greenlit yet, but already there are writers being assembled ahead of the season finale on Sunday, October 4th. Christopher Cantwell, Nakkiah Lui, Zack Whedon, Selwyn Seyfu Hinds, and a returning Vanessa Baden Kelly are all a part of this new, potential writing room under showrunner Chris Mundy. A mix of comic writers, industry veterans and staff from Mundy’s Halt and Catch Fire, these writers indicate that there are plans for Season 2. Also announced is that Tom King and Damon Lindelof, the co-creators of the HBO Max series, are stepping down from production, leaving everything to Mundy. Tom King is working on Mister Miracle instead, while we have no news on what Lindelof will be working on.

As stated before, Season 2 has not been greenlit, and there’s no guarantee that it will be. However, the existence of a writer’s room indicates some desire for a renewal from HBO, even if they are only writing pitch pages at this point. Fans are certain to get their hopes up for Season 2, and we’ll be there to let them know if and when such a renewal will happen. Until then, there are plenty of other articles on our site, about DC and other related topics.
