Leon Kennedy Returns in 'Resident Evil: Requiem' According To A PlayStation Store Leak

A monster sneaking up on Grace

The latest video game leak came from the PlayStation Store. The company uploaded the Resident Evil: Requiem cover art a little too early, revealing Leon Kennedy's inclusion. Previously, the game director Koshi Nakanishi dismissed the possibility, claiming the character’s calm demeanor made him unsuitable for a horror game. Fans are speculating that the game developers knew about his inclusion but wanted to announce it at the Game Awards on December 11, 2025. Resident Evil: Requiem has already been confirmed for the Game Awards, so the fan theory may have merit.

After the mishap, the official PlayStation Store website quickly removed the page with the new cover art, but that was not enough to stop the leak from making it around the web. The cover art showed the protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, with a large image of Leon looming behind her. This points to Leon being more than a cameo role in the series, as the art suggests he will play a prominent role. Given that there are only two characters in the image, the cover art seems to be setting up Leon as a deuteragonist, or the person most important to the story aside from the protagonist. Resident Evil: Requiem will be released on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 27, 2026.
