There has been a lot of uncertainty at Warner Bros. and DC lately. Since James Gunn and Peter Safran took over, they have axed some projects and recast others. However, one property is safe. There will be a sequel to The Batman, and it will star Robert Pattinson. Matt Reeves, the director of The Batman, is currently writing with his collaborator, Mattson Tomlin. Reeves says that he is excited to be working with Pattinson again. There is currently no date for when filming will begin. All that is known so far is that the sequel is happening, and it will be closely tied to the new Penguin mini-series.

Collin Farrell, who plays the Penguin, made some intriguing comments about the show. “I read the first episode, which is just so tasty and so unusual as the character was on the page and what Matt Reeves kind of envisioned when he was thinking of this iteration of the bang-up of Oz. So yeah, it’ll be, I think, six or eight hours.” Farrel seems excited to get back into that character.

There are also rumors that the Batman universe, or Batverse, will be expanding beyond the movie and the mini-series. There was talk of a series focusing on the Gotham City police department, but that has evolved into a show that focuses on Arkham Asylum. It looks like there will be plenty to keep fans of the Bat happy for quite some time.
