Los Angeles native actor Milo Manheim has been tapped to star in a Serendipity reboot/remake/rebuttal. This movie, co-produced by Miramax and Amazon MGM, is being written by Marc Klein, who wrote the original 2001 romantic comedy. Michael Showalter and Jordana Mollick are producing for Semi-Formal Productions, alongside another alumnus from the original, Simon Fields. In addition to Klein, Jonathan Glickman, Alexandra Loewy, and Thom Zadra will be credited as executive producers. Showalter is directing the film, replacing Peter Chelsom. The original film was a success for Miramax, grossing over $77 million; it remains to be seen just what form the distribution of the new film will take.

Milo Manheim got his big break in the Disney Channel Original Movie Zombies, playing the male lead of Zed Necrodopolis. This would later spin off into a successful franchise, with Manheim going on to star in such diverse works as the Paramount+ series School Spirits, Season 25 of Dancing with the Stars, a currently in-production remake of Tangled, playing Flynn Rider, and Camp Rock 3, a legacy sequel to another pair of DCOMs. We don’t have any information about what role Manheim is playing, though it is likely that he will be playing one of the leads. We’ll just have to wait for the rest of the information.
