On the heels of Japan’s Star Wars Celebration, news about a mysterious new series has emerged. The new Star Wars show is being developed by Carlton Cuse, a co-showrunner for Lost, and his son Nick Cuse. Little else is known about the show, including where or when it will take place, its central characters, or who will play them. Cuse follows in the footsteps of some of his Lost team. J.J. Abrams, a co-creator of the show, went on to direct The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker. Damon Lindelöf, another Lost co-showrunner, was originally set to co-write a film focusing on Rey with Justin Britt-Gibson before being replaced.

Nick Cuse earned impressive credits from his work on The Leftovers, Watchmen, and Station Eleven, but this mysterious series will be their first father-and-son Hollywood project. Another Star Wars project was recently announced. This project will be a trilogy written by Simon Kinberg and another separate film with Taika Waititi set to direct. Star Wars: Andor returned with its second season premiere, dropping three episodes at once, which are available to stream on Disney+. New episodes will be released on Tuesdays until the season finale on May 13.
