Official Trailer For 'Toy Story 5' Is Here

This June, are you ready for more heroic toy journeys?

Yesterday, Disney released the first trailer for Toy Story 5, elaborating on the story and the antagonist for this installment.

The premise seems to follow that Bonnie is struggling to make friends, with a quick glimpse of a scene with Bonnie showing off Jessie to some girls sitting on some steps, tablets in hand. Jessie, who looks to be the new Woody for the Bonnie Toys, states that they’re trying to help Bonnie make friends. Her parents, perhaps in trying to keep Bonnie relevant with her peers, give Bonnie a tablet, and in true reflective reality fashion, it quickly consumes her attention.

It had been stated that future Toy Story movies won’t necessarily be sequential following the fourth, but it seems that’s not the case for 5. Bonnie is clearly older than she was in Toy Story 4, and Woody is no longer with the Bonnie Toys and still out in the wild rescuing toys with Bo Peep, complete with a red bandana as a poncho. That also seems to have taken a toll on Woody’s body, as there’s a fun little joke scene where Woody’s hair color is fading, making him appear to go bald. He’s called back into action to help Jessie take down the tablet that has taken over Bonnie’s life.
