Ryan Seacrest Visits Disneyland With 'American Idol' And Meets Some New 'Star Wars' Characters

The Mandalorian and Grogu appeared in a special Disney-themed episode of American Idol this week. The hit show’s host, Ryan Seacrest, was at Disneyland dressed as Grogu, complete with the little one’s floppy, green ears. Din Djarin and Grogu made a special appearance with Seacrest, joining the host with a badass entry, including smoke effects and The Mandalorian’s main theme. Their appearance helped promote the film’s May 22 release, but that wasn’t all, as Disney dropped a fresh 1-minute spot with new footage.

The action-packed new clip included a scene of Grogu helping Din repair the Razor Crest, Din Djarin fighting killer droids in a forest, and much more. The American Idol promotion comes on the heels of The Mandalorian and Grogu promotion during Wrestlemania. Din and Grogu’s WrestleMania appearance garnered a positive response and loud applause from fans. Currently, the efforts to promote the movie have picked up speed. With only a month left, the press tour seems well underway, and Disney seems determined to let everyone know that a new Star Wars movie is releasing next month. Any complaints about a lack of proper promotion certainly seem to have been noted and addressed. Meanwhile, director Jon Favreau has promised audiences that the movie will be a completely different experience from a season of The Mandalorian. Favreau says he pulled out all the stops, but it’s up to fans to actually watch it on a big enough screen to see if his efforts paid off. The Mandalorian and Grogu, starring Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, and Grogu, will be released in theaters on May 22.
