One of television’s most divisive visionaries has found a new home! It’s been announced that award winning director, writer, and producer Sam Levinson has signed a new overall TV deal with Amazon!
Sam Levinson made his feature directorial debut in 2011 with the drama film Another Happy Day, which starred Ellen Barkin, Kate Bosworth, Thomas Haden Church, and Demi Moore. In 2018, he wrote and directed Assassination Nation, starring Odessa Young, Suki Waterhouse, and Hari Nef. While Another Happy Day received mixed reviews, Assassination Nation received positive reviews for Levinson’s direction, visual style, and the cast. He directed the film Malcolm & Marie in 2021, which starred Zendaya and John David Washington. While Zendaya’s performance and Levinson’s direction were praised, it received heavy criticism for its screenplay.
