Parisian cartoon Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir is coming to live-action. The franchise has 53 million followers across its socials and 50 billion views on YouTube, with more than 300 licensing partners. But it appears now that See-Saw Film Studios (Heartstoppers, The King’s Speech) is masking up to bring Marinette and Adrien to life in a new series.
Emme Hoy will be writing the script, a relatively new talent with previous credits in Renegade Nell and He Had It Coming series, but with little in the way of experience of working in the superhero/kids genre. There’s no word on who will be directing yet, but the project has a list of executive producers attached, most of whom are See-Saw and Miraculous Corp regulars.

Executive producer of See-Saw films Maria Nicholson made a statement on her excitement about acquiring the Miraculous IP. “Miraculous has always been, at its heart, a story about the distance between who we are and who we let people see. Live action gives us the space to really feel that — to let it breathe, to let it hurt”
There’s no time frame as to a release date, but Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir does have a stage show that’s launching a world tour in 2027 so it would make sense for the buzz for the live-action at least attempt to boost ticket sales. So expect some more news to follow early in the new year!
