'Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic' Remake Release Remains In Doubt As Questions Go Unanswered

At a recent investor meeting for the Embracer Group, CEO Lars Wingefors dismissed a question from Axios reporter Stephen Totilo regarding a potential remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic by saying, ‘I have no further comments.” This continues the company’s long-standing silence with fans who wish to see a remake of the game come to fruition. Of note, Wingefors did preface his statement of no comment with how the question was “my favorite.” Wingefors was attempting to say more about the project; however, the interviewer for the investor meeting spoke over him.

Since the game was announced at a PlayStation showcase, a cold of speculation covers the project, which resulted in the project moving from Aspyr to Saber Interactive. The question from Totilo was prompted by a recent report stating how the game was changing developers due to a poorly received internal gameplay demo. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is slated to release exclusively on the PlayStation 5 console, and fans have only been treated to a brief trailer for the game, which debuted in 2022.

The Embracer Group recently disclosed how the company is coming into a difficult season as a $2 million partnership fell through, which meant the revenue forecast was much lower than anticipated.

At the time of this writing, no release date is set for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
