We sense a potential disturbance in the force, though hopefully not too serious. Steven Soderbergh has given another “nope” in regards to his Ben Solo project, in spite of new leadership at Lucasfilm and Disney. This came after a discussion with The Playlist, where he was asked about the potential role Andor had in the initial interest in the project. Soderbergh talked a bit about his project, “But this was [all] before ‘Andor’ aired. Adam and I started talking, and this would have been almost three years ago now. “It was strictly Adam saying, ‘I think there’s still somewhere to go with this character.’ That’s how it started.”

The Ben Solo project was uncovered some time ago, and appears to have been developed somewhat before cancellation. Soderbergh stated, “As soon as it became apparent, OK, not gonna happen, I sat down and started writing [something else],” later adding, “if it was gonna happen, it would have happened. It’s that simple.” Many fans wondered what the project would have been like, and it's fascinating regardless of one’s opinions on Ben. Of course, there’s still a chance someone might pick it up again, but that’s speculation at this point. We’ll be heading back to the unknown regions of the internet.
