The announcement of new films within the Star Wars universe during Star Wars Celebration has brought a lot of excitement among fans. Now, thanks to EW, a small detail is known about what these three films will share. The classic crawl.

Ever since A New Hope in 1977, a crawl set among the stars would give background to the events that would play out in the film. Each subsequent film up to Revenge of the Sith would then use the crawl. After Disney’s takeover and a new slate of films announced, the sequel trilogy would continue to use that crawl while those that would be labelled as anthology films wouldn’t.

With this new lot of films now announced, it seemed likely that a crawl would appear for the one focused on Rey rebuilding the Jedi Order. She has adopted the Skywalker name, after all, making it a part of the Skywalker Saga. When further questioned by EW, Kathleen Kennedy revealed that the crawl would return for all the films. “The crawl is for movies,” she directly stated.

A new Star Wars film is always an event, made more so by that classic John Williams theme playing as the crawl scrolls on by. The return of that theme is uncertain as of yet since non-Saga films might use their own musical style right from the off, but it’s nice to know that the classic crawl will be back again.
