Amid London’s Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy shared some exciting news with fans. Lando Calrissian will return for a brand new Disney+ series. The Lando series was first announced back in 2020 and largely forgotten about, as shows like Andor and The Mandalorian took the spotlight.

Donald Glover, who played Lando in Solo: A Star Wars Story, says he’s on board for the project if it’s done right. Glover said, “I’m not interested in doing anything that’s just gonna be a waste of my time or just a paycheck. I’d much rather spend time with people that I enjoy. Lando is definitely somebody I’d like to hang out with-we’re talking about it, that’s as much as I can say without Kathleen Kennedy hunting me down.”

The series is being developed by Justin Simien, who directed, produced, and wrote Dear White People and Bad Hair. Although no further details are available for the series, Lando has been in the Star Wars universe since the 1980s. Making his debut in The Empire Strikes Back, the galactic smuggler and gambler quickly won the hearts of fans. The upcoming Lando series will likely endear the character to current and future generations.
