Recently, there has been a confusing situation regarding Hasbro and Activision and their Transformers video games. One report stated that Hasbro wanted to possibly reboot Xbox 360/PS3-era games onto modern gaming platforms. Another report, however, seemed to suggest that Activision has apparently lost the games, and does not currently know where they are stored.

Many of the Transformers games were removed from digital stores back in 2018. Now, even though it seems that Hasbro would like to bring those games back, it appeared that they were unable to find them. In an interview with Transformers World 2005, Hasbro made the following comments: “Sadly, apparently Activision’s not sure what hard drives they’re on in their building. When a company eats a company that eats a company, things get lost, and that’s very frustrating.”

Then a little over 24 hours later, Activision’s CCO and EVP of corporate affairs Lulu Cheng Meservey tweeted that Activision had never lost the code for the Transformers games. Hasbro then made the following comment: “To clarify, comments that suggest Transformers games have been lost were made in error. We apologize to Activision and regret any confusion as they’ve been great partners and we look forward to future opportunities to work together.”

So while there may be some confusion on whether the code was ever lost for these games, it appears fans of the games will have to wait and see about the future of these projects.
