A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was launched. A themed area of Disneyland, it brought the Star Wars galaxy to planet Earth. Though not without its ups and downs, overall, it appears to be a huge success. The planet of Batuu, the setting of the area, has been a part of galactic history for centuries, the area has been set in the sequel trilogy’s timeline, with the First Order and the Resistance battling behind the scenes. That fact is soon about to change, as Disney has just announced a timeline expansion
Beginning on April 29, 2026, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will expand to include concepts from other Star Wars eras. Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca and Princess Leia will be coming to the park, representing the era of the original trilogy and the Galactic Civil War. Meanwhile, aspects from the area between those trilogies will be present as well, including Ahsoka Tano and Din Djarin. Sequel trilogy elements will remain, including Rey and the Resistance's fight against the First Order. This will coincide with improvements and adjustments to the area that will better reflect the new expanded timeline, and offer visitors a new glimpse into the Galaxy Far, Far Away.
