When one alumnus from that galaxy far, far away departs, another shall take his place! Deadline is reporting that Wagner Moura will replace Oscar Isaac in the upcoming vampire thriller, Flesh Of The Gods. Isaac reportedly dropped out due to scheduling conflicts, though what project is preventing him from joining Flesh Of The Gods remains unknown at this time.

Flesh Of The Gods centers on a married couple living in 1980s Los Angeles as they encounter a mysterious creature who introduces them to a whole new world. Kristen Stewart and Wagner Moura will play the couple. Panos Cosmatos, the director of the 2018 Nicolas Cage cult classic Mandy, is helming and writing the film. A24 has joined the fold as the film’s distributor.

Wager Moura has cemented himself as one of the most in-demand leading men in the industry right now. After breaking out in Brazilian films such as Elite Squad, he moved into American films and TV shows in the 2010s. Moura is perhaps best known for his role as Pablo Escobar in the hit Netflix series Narcos. In addition to supporting roles in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and Civil War, Moura achieved universal acclaim for his performance in The Secret Agent. The film, directed by acclaimed Brazilian filmmaker Kleber Mendonça Filho, earned Moura an Oscar nomination for Best Actor and won him a Golden Globe. Moura will next be seen, or rather heard, voicing the role of Brander Lawson in the highly anticipated Star Wars animated series, Maul - Shadow Lord, which has already been renewed for a second season ahead of its season 1 premiere next week.
