Cinema Con 2026 is fast approaching, and more announcements continue to roll in. The headliner of the Creative Community Luncheon has been announced! Jon Favreau, creator and director of the upcoming Star Wars film, The Mandalorian and Grogu (2026), will be taking on this role. This year’s moderator will be a founding partner of Puck News Matt Belloni.  The convention posted a brief description of the event, describing what is key for it, “Creating a bridge between the filmmaking and theatrical exhibition communities has been an important cornerstone of the Thursday filmmaker lunch session.” The registration type is F for this event, and the event itself is generally intended for professionals in the industry.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu will hit theaters on May 22, 2026. It will be released exclusively in theaters; a Disney+ release date has not been announced at this time. While the plot details are being kept purposefully vague, the film follows the titular duo as they work with the New Republic to tackle a rising threat to the galaxy. It is set after the third season of The Mandalorian. Filoni directed and co-wrote the film with Dave Filoni and Noah Kloor. To catch up on Din Djarin and Grogu 's adventures, The Mandalorian is available to stream on Disney+.
