Werner Herzog Has Some Advice For Movie Fans About 'Star Wars'

While he might not be the most well-known face in Hollywood, Werner Herzog has certainly made his mark. His works include Fitzcarraldo, Aguirre, The Wrath Of God, and Nosferatu The Vampyre. He also has made an appearance in Star Wars that may have gone under the nose of many fans: in the first season of The Mandalorian, he plays “the client”, a man who hired series antagonist Din Djarin to capture a target that is later revealed to be breakout character Grogu, or as he is known to many: Baby Yoda.

In a recent interview, he was asked about his role in the production, he said of series co-creator Jon Favreau “Once he made a remark that he wanted many, many people to know the face of the man who made all these films that he likes. We should not dismiss Star Wars: they are new mythologies and a new way of seeing our role in the universe.” Favreau is stated to have specifically wanted Herzog for the role.
