After finding success with its first season but falling off soon after, it has been confirmed that Yellowjackets has been cancelled. The upcoming fourth season will be the last for the Paramount thriller series. The showrunners of Yellowjackets, Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, released a statement to announce the news.

That statement reads, “After three incredible seasons, and great consideration, we’re excited to announce that we will be bringing the story of Yellowjackets to its twisted conclusion in this fourth and final season. We’ve always known there would come a point when the story would tell us it wants to end, and it’s our belief that our job – our responsibility – is to listen.”

It continues with, “Telling this emotional, wild, and deeply human story has been a profoundly meaningful experience and a true honour for us, and we’re so grateful to the brilliant cast, crew, and writers who have bravely gone on the journey with us to bring it to life. Most of all, we want to thank the fans who have stuck with us through every moment, mystery, and meal – the Hive is nothing without you! We can’t wait to share the final chapter with you and hope you find it … delicious.”

The series was originally planned to be five seasons, though Yellowjackets is lucky in being able to end things how it wants to – if a bit earlier than planned. Many a series has been cancelled without that luxury. Fans will get to see the conclusion to this story, though, as yet there is no release date set yet. The three seasons of Yellowjackets are available to watch on Paramount+, with the first two also on Netflix.
