A new member has been added to the cast list of the upcoming HBO series Lanterns. Cary Christopher will be joining the project as a young Noah Macon. Deadline describes the character as “quite gifted for his age and effortlessly good at whatever he tries,” and that he enjoys football. Christopher has been in several projects since the start of his career in 2018.  He is best known for playing Thomas DiMera in the long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives. Other projects he has appeared in include The Rookie, NCIS, 9-1-1, and Station 19. He has a fair bit of experience in first responder-related shows, fitting well with the crime/mystery genre of Lanterns.

Other cast members of Lanterns include Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan, Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Nicole Ari Parker as Bernadette, Jasmine Cephas Jones as a Young Bernadette, Garret Dillahunt as William Macon, Poorna Jagannathan as Zoe, and Jason Ritter as Billy Macon.  Chris Mundy is serving as the showrunner of the series.  James Hawes, Geeta Vasant Patel, Alik Sakharov, and Stephen Williams will each direct two episodes.

Set in Nebraska, the series follows Lantern rookie John Stewart and the highly experienced Lantern Hal Jordan as they investigate a murder, leading them into something deeper and darker. The series is currently set to premiere in early 2026, exclusively on HBO Max. There will be eight episodes in total. Lanterns will be part of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters in the DC reboot, although its exact position cannot be determined without a solid release date.
