'The Mighty Nein' Episode 7 Spoiler-Free Review

It’s hard to believe that we are already at the penultimate episode of The Mighty Nein. This series has been excellent so far, and each episode has been better than the last. This episode delivered some very emotional moments and some intense ones as well.
After completing their job for The Gentleman, the group decides to go their separate ways, as they all have their individual leads to follow. Fjord finds a bathhouse, where he tries to understand the yellow eye that keeps calling to him.
Beau goes to investigate the Cobal Soul and meets Dairon, who tells her to hide her colors. Caleb is going after Trent, but gets stopped by Astrid and Eadwulf, who confront him about the past. Nott decides to be a true goblin and start scaring people. Jester tries to reach the Traveler to no avail, and Molly decides to follow Cree. Of course, they can’t stay apart for long and reunite in the end because if they didn’t, it wouldn’t be much of a show.

Essek also played a big part in this week's episode. Unfortunately, everything went wrong for the wizard this episode. Verrat finds out about what Essek did with the beacon and threatens to tell the Bright Queen. On top of that, his mother finds out about her typhros. It’s a series of emotional moments for Essek from here on. We did get to see more of the Bright Queen, though, which is always interesting.
The episode featured a fan favorite character, Pumat Sol. Caleb makes his way to The Invulnerable Vagrant, where he is greeted by an enchanter by the name of Pumat Sol. A surprise awaits him, though, as there is not only one of him, but four. This was also one of my favorite moments of the episode. It was so whimsical, especially with Frumpkin having the time of his life floating around the store. Matt Mercer is voicing the character in the series, just as he did in the campaign. Pumat was always one of my favorite NPCs in the campaign, and I am so happy we finally got to see him animated.

All anyone wants to do is belong, and that’s why this episode was fittingly titled ‘Belonging’. Most of these heroes have been on their own for so long that they have forgotten what it’s like being with others. Some have also never known what it’s like to have a friend, or a group that cares for you, so when they separate, it’s especially hard on Jester and Nott. Nott has never felt like she belonged, as she’s a goblin. Jester’s only friend is the Traveler, who has been absent recently. Nott and Jester have become close, and when the two reunite, chaos ensues. One of my favorite things about the Nein is how they’re a bunch of weirdos who got together by chance and ended up becoming a family. I love seeing them grow as a group and form their bonds with each other.
With the final episode on the horizon, anything can happen. When the series first started, I had an idea of what the final episode of the season might entail, and now I am not sure. I’m excited to see how they wrap up this first season and what season 2 will bring.
