All The Jedi That Survived Order 66

Order 66 was a turning point in Star Wars. It was when the Republic ended, and the Empire began. Palpatine was finally able to get full control of the galaxy after the conclusion of the Clone Wars. He had the clone troopers on his side, because of their inhibitor chips. He had the Jedi hunted, and almost completely wiped out the Jedi Order. Palpatine was unsuccessful, however, as some Jedi were able to escape, go into hiding, and even assist the Rebels in their continued fight against the Empire.

10. Yoda

Yoda was on the Wookiee planet of Kashyyyk when Order 66 was executed. With the help of Chewbacca, he was able to go back to Coruscant, fight Palpatine, and eventually escape with the aid of Bail Organa. He felt like he failed, and decided to exile himself on the swamp planet of Dagobah.

During The Clone Wars finale, Ahsoka helped Rex remove his inhibitor chip. She also heard the fight between Obi-Wan and Anakin on the comms system. She and Rex went as far as faking their deaths, but Vader discovered that she is alive thanks to a vision in the Force. In E. K. Johnston’s Ahsoka, we find out she would come out of hiding and team up with Bail Organa and the fledgling Rebel Alliance to fight the Empire.

8. Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan had a similar fate to Yoda at the end of Revenge of the Sith. He went into hiding on Tatooine to keep an eye on Luke Skywalker. The Obi-Wan Kenobi series revealed that Obi-Wan did not stay in hiding, and assisted in rescuing Leia. He helped her father Bail Organa one more time before retiring to Tatooine.

7. Kanan Jarrus

Caleb Dume was the Padawan to Deepa Bilaba. As we saw in The Bad Batch series premiere, Deepa Bilaba was executed by the clone troopers. Clone Force 99 then helped Caleb escape. He was eventually taken in by a smuggler named Janus Kasmir, who told him to abandon all connections to the Jedi. He would take on the name Kanan Jarrus and become a crucial figure in the Rebellion.

6. Cal Kestis

We first met Cal Kestis working in a scrapyard. Similar to Kanan, he was only a Padawan when Order 66 occurred. His master Jaro Tapal was gravely wounded and succumbed to his wounds in his arms. Cal eventually embraced the Force and his Jedi roots with the help of Cere Junda.

She, along with Yoda, was on Kashyyyk when Order 66 was issued. She survived the initial execution of the Jedi but was eventually captured and taken to the Spire on Stygeon Prime. She was executed by the Grand Inquisitor who then used her remains to lure in the remaining Jedi by spreading rumors she was alive.

4. Jocasta Nu

She was the keeper of the Jedi archives in the library. In Charles Soule’s Darth Vader comics, Palpatine wanted Jocasta to be brought to him alive due to her wealth of knowledge from working in the archives. She returned to the Jedi Temple to retrieve more holocrons where she crossed paths with the Grand Inquisitor. Vader intervened, and she was captured. On the transport, she revealed that Vader was Anakin Skywalker, and accepted her fate when the Sith Lord killed everyone on board to protect his identity.

3. Quinlan Vos

Quinlan Vos

Even though he was not in many episodes of The Clone Wars, we were able to see his special ability that allowed him to see people’s memories by touching objects they had come in contact with. While Vos was presumed dead, he was seen 10 years later assisting a network that helped fugitive Jedi and Force-sensitives escape to Jabiim.

2. Cere Junda

Cere was captured and tortured by Imperial forces. She broke down and gave up her Padawan's name, Trilla. After Trilla’s conversion to the dark side, she was brought back to mock Cere. Cere tapped into the dark side of the Force and killed everyone in the room besides Trilla. She was able to make her escape after cutting herself off from the Force.

1. Gungi

We first met Gungi when he was a youngling. In an episode of The Clone Wars, he had to overcome his fear to acquire his kyber crystal for his lightsaber. We saw him again later, fighting in a group under the command of Anakin Skywalker. It was unknown if he survived Order 66 until he was shown in The Bad Batch Season 2 trailer.

Order 66 was not completely successful in wiping out all of the Jedi. It did wipe out most of them and made it difficult to rebuild the order. Some Jedi did survive and were able to assist the Rebellion against the Empire. While it is unclear how some of them were able to survive, it is great that some were able to continue their fight.
