TV And Film Couples We Wish Had Happened

There is nothing worse than watching a TV show or movie and shipping two characters only to learn that they will never be together. Whether you are a hopeless romantic or you happen to hate romance, we have all had at least one couple from a show or movie that we were rooting for until the very end. As we get closer to Valentine’s Day, I will be doing a handful of articles revolving around couples and rom-coms. To kick it off, I am starting with 10 couples from TV and films that we wish would have ended up together. Or at least had a steamy hook-up! Spoiler Warning: Contains spoilers for each show listed below!!

10. Spongebob & Sandy - Spongebob Squarepants

If you grew up with Spongebob then you know how badly we all wanted Spongebob and Sandy to end up together! In the early episodes, they seemed to always be flirting with each other, and they were always at their best when they were doing things together. It was even teased in a season six episode titled “Truth or Square” where the two got married as part of a play. They really are a great pair, and I hope whenever the show decides to end they will have them together.

9. JJ And Reid - Criminal Minds

I feel like all Criminal Minds fans can agree on this couple! Throughout the entire first run of the show, these two had an undeniable chemistry. Even after JJ met Will, I was still holding out hope that she would eventually come to her senses. Then to make it hurt even more, JJ admitted her true feelings for Reid in the season 14 finale, yet she stayed with Will even after Reid revealed his feelings for her also. I know it is a long shot, but honestly, I am still holding out hope that in the new season of Criminal Minds: Evolution they might get to be together if they bring Reid back.

8. Morty And Jessica - Rick And Morty

I honestly feel so sad for Morty and Jessica. Every single time that they try to make it work, something horrible happens to rip them apart. I was really surprised that we saw almost no Jessica in the most recent season of the show, but I am hoping that in the new season, they will finally get their chance to be together. Morty deserves to get a little bit of a break after everything he has been through in the show in general but also with his love life.

7. Rey And Finn - Star Wars The Sequel Trilogy

This might not be the most popular opinion, but I loved the idea of Rey and Finn together. It felt heavily teased in The Force Awakensbut it was completely abandoned in The Rise of Skywalker and The Last Jedi which was a huge disappointment! I am really hoping that in the new Rey movie, we will get to see her and Finn together. It is time that we change the Jedi Code, and this would be a great way to do it!

6. Ezra And Sabine - Star Wars Rebels

I feel like with the way they acted in season one of Ahsoka this is probably inevitable, but I still felt like they had to make this list since we haven’t seen them as a couple yet! In Rebels, they gave off “will they or won’t they” vibes, but in Ahsoka, it felt like so much more than that! This is another great way to get rid of the old Jedi order and move forward with an order that recognizes the benefits of love and relationships.

5. Izuku Midoriya And Ochako Uraraka - My Hero Academia

This is one of the most frustrating duos on this list! I still don’t understand why they aren’t a couple yet because, throughout all of the current seasons and movies, they have acted like a couple and yet still aren’t one! I know the show has taken a much darker turn, but if we don’t get them as an official couple or at least admit their feelings to each other, I am going to go crazy! They are perfect for each other!

4. Galadriel And GandalfThe Lord Of The Rings And The Hobbit Trilogies

This may be another unpopular opinion, but these two are soulmates and I will stand by that opinion forever! Every time we see them together, there is this beautiful connection between them, and it makes me really sad that we never got to see their love grow. They were strongest when protecting each other, and they always seemed to be on exactly the same page.

3. Kili And Tauriel - The Hobbit Trilogy

This is easily the saddest duo on this list. They were perfect for each other, and it was so much fun seeing how their love and connection grew each time they were on screen together. The fact that Kili died, and Tauriel had to watch it happen still makes me cry every time I see it. Tauriel’s monologue at the end just further proves how perfect they were, and I so badly wish we could have seen them as an actual couple!

2. Goku And Bulma - Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, And Dragon Ball Super

I will never understand the decision to pair Goku with ChiChi. I loved Bulma and Vegeta together, and I understand that if things were different we wouldn’t have Gohan, Trunks, Goten, or Pan, but I still can’t believe Goku and Bulma never had their moment! Once Goku grew up, they would have made the perfect couple, and it still drives me nuts that we will never get to see it.

1. Harry And Hermione - Harry Potter Films

It is wild to me that Hermione ended up with Ron Weasley. If you rewatch the movies you will see how close Hermione was to Harry until they decided that she should end up with Ron and then there was a rapid and unexplained change. She and Ron are one of the worst couples I have ever seen in any movie, and it will never make sense to me. She and Harry are a perfect pair, and we see how amazingly they work together in The Prisoner of Azkaban with the time-turner.
