Star Wars is known for its diverse cast of characters thanks to the ever-growing galaxy. Few characters are as loved and vital to the Star Wars storylines as the droids that are scattered throughout. While most fans will think of droids like R2-D2, C3-PO, BB-8, or the battle droids, if you haven’t seen Star Wars Rebels then you are missing out on the best droid in all of Star Wars, C1-10P, lovingly known as Chopper

He was rescued by Hera Syndulla during the Clone Wars and has an attitude second to none. He also has some of the funniest and most devious moments in all of the Star Wars galaxy! Thanks to the Ahsoka trailer released this past weekend at Star Wars Celebration we now know that Chopper will be included in the live-action series. Let’s take a look at 10 of Chopper’s best moments as we all impatiently await the new series!

Warning: Contains spoilers for Star Wars: Rebels Seasons 1-3!

10. Ezra’s Jedi Training

Chopper is known for being a prankster, and this is especially true when it comes to Ezra’s Jedi training. When Kanan asks Chopper to throw empty bottles at Ezra while his eyes are closed so he can work on using the Force to sense them and deflect them with his lightsaber, Chopper chooses to throw them as hard and fast as he can until he ultimately knocks Ezra off of the Ghost. In another instance, Ezra is attempting to lift Chopper using the Force. After getting frustrated that he can’t do it, Rex points out that Chopper has bolted himself to the floor of the Ghost. This style of prank is something that Chopper continues throughout the show.

9. Attempted Murder Of The Imperial Droid (Season 1, Episode 14)

During the Season 1 finale, the Ghost’s crew works tirelessly to rescue Kanan from an Imperial prison. This includes kidnapping an Imperial droid and replacing it with Chopper so that he can get inside and help them find their way through the prison. After completing the mission, Chopper returns to the Ghost to discover that the Imperial droid is still on board and Zeb and Ezra are discussing whether or not they should let him stay. Before anyone can make a decision, Chopper opens the hatch and kicks the droid out into space. Chopper is known for being savage and not caring who or what he kills.

8. Tricking Lando (Season 1, Episode 10)

Lando Calrissian is a name that Star Wars fans are very familiar with. He is known for being a charming swindler who typically gets the edge up on everyone who dares to sit down with him for a game of sabacc. Zeb and Kanan happen to be the fools in this episode, and after losing Chopper to Lando, they are forced to do his bidding to get Chopper back. At the end of the episode, the crew is disappointed when they believe that Lando has tricked them, and they are worse off than when they started. Chopper quickly comes to the rescue and reveals that he saw through Lando’s scam, and while they were fighting, he snuck the fuel they desperately needed on board. Chopper is easily one of the smartest and most cunning characters in all of Star Wars

7. Leg Thief (Season 2, Episode 19)

Chopper typically listens to Hera when she gives him an order, but while on a mission to steal fuel from the Empire, he notices that a merchant across the way is selling a leg that looks exactly like the one he is missing. Even though Hera tells him to stay with the Ghost, Chopper rushes over and steals the leg from the merchant only to realize that the crew has accidentally left him behind. This does not deter him though as he opts to hitch a ride with the Empire to get back to his crew and still keeps a hold of the leg! Thankfully, it comes in handy a little bit later.

6. Rescuing Ezra and Hera (Season 3, Episode 5)

Hera tries to escape with her family's Kalikori

When Hera learns that the Empire has taken over not only her home planet of Ryloth but also her family home, she and Ezra decide to sneak in and retrieve her family’s Kalikori. After grabbing the heirloom, the pair are captured by Grand Admiral Thrawn and offered up as a bargaining chip to force her father’s surrender. Hera tells Chopper to get as many explosive charges as he can and plant them in the home. He goes all out and plants charges in every corner of the home before blowing it to bits the second Hera and Ezra are safely outside. Chopper has a habit of always coming to the rescue, typically at the last moment.

5. Attacking Imperial Captain (Season 2, Episode 19)

After Chopper steals the leg and hops onto one of the Empire’s ships, he befriends a Republic droid that has been forced to work for the Empire. While the two are attempting to formulate a plan, they are discovered by the ship's captain who quickly learns you don’t mess with Chopper. In his first attack, Chopper knocks the captain out using the leg he has stolen as a weapon and the pair quickly make their way for the ship's controls. When the captain returns and takes the leg away from Chopper thinking he has won, Chopper electrocutes the captain until he is unconscious and then takes the ship to the Rebellion.

4. Bed Bolts (Season 1, Episode 3)

Chopper holds up the bed bolts triumphantly

One of Chopper’s best pranks comes at the very beginning of the series. After Ezra agrees to join the Ghost’s crew, he is bunked up with Zeb. The two are constantly at each other’s throats and Chopper is doing his part to make sure they stay that way. In his most devious prank yet, Chopper removes the bolts from Ezra’s top bunk. After Zeb has given him a stern warning not to wake him, Ezra hops onto his bunk to relax only for it to collapse onto Zeb. This results in a hilarious game of cat and mouse. When Sabine asks what happens and Chopper just laughs and dances with the bolts in his hands.

3. Chopper’s Guns (Season 2, Episode 6)

Chopper is no stranger to weapons as he routinely works one of the guns on the Ghost. In this episode, Ezra and Chopper respond to a distress beacon and meet Hondo Ohnaka. After Hondo’s deal goes sideways, he and Ezra are tied up by Azmorigan and told they are going to be shot out into space. While the pair are focused on talking their way out of the situation, Chopper rushes in and saves the day by throwing a shield generator onto the troopers, freeing Ezra and Hondo, and then taking two blasters and wildly zipping around the ship, “guns blazing.” It is pure chaos and Chopper is living his best life!

2. Taking Apart Ketsu’s Guns (Season 2, Episode 8)

Chopper heads for Ketsu's ship

While on a mission, Ezra, Sabine, and Chopper run into one of Sabine’s old friends, Ketsu. After things go awry, Sabine is in a showdown with her old friend, and the situation looks grim. This is until Sabine realizes that Chopper is rocketing toward Ketsu’s ship and has successfully removed all of the parts needed to work her guns. Does he do this meticulously? No, he rips open the top of her ship and begins ripping out wires and bolts and throwing them out into space. It is a truly hilarious moment for the droid!

1. Chopper’s Arms

While Chopper cannot speak, he finds other ways to communicate like his beeps, squeals, and laughter. The best way that Chopper communicates though is with his arms. Most of the time they are tucked away, but when he is upset or annoyed, he will throw them up into the air, hit Ezra with them more than once, or place them on his hips when his sass is at an all-time high. My favorite is when he karate chops with them as he is getting ready to fight!

You can catch Chopper in Star Wars Rebels currently streaming on Disney+ and in the upcoming Ahsoka series set to hit the streamlining platform this August!
