The Ahsoka teaser trailer dropped yesterday, giving fans their first glimpse of Thrawn in a tantalizingly vague over-the-shoulder shot. For 24 hours, Star Wars fans frantically Google-searched for pictures of the back of Lars Mikkelsen’s head for a side-by-side comparison.

Disney decided to put us out of our misery, and the casting has now been confirmed. Lars Mikkelsen walked out at an Ahsoka panel at Star Wars Celebration 2023 to rapturous applause, greeting fans with a signature Thrawn bow. This is sure to be popular with fans, who have been calling for Lars to step into the part since rumors of Thrawn’s inclusion began. Lars has tactfully denied any involvement until now, but did anyone really believe him?

Star Wars Celebration 2023 has some dropped massive bombshells and it’s only the second day. It’s hard to think of anything bigger than this that they might be saving for the last two days...but then again…
