“The story continues”, reads an X post from January 10, 2024. This was from the Star Wars account and marks the official announcement of Ahsoka season 2. Ahsoka was one of several series to debut on the streaming service Disney+. Though the fan reception has been mixed, the initiative appears to have been a success. Ahsoka follows on from plot points and characters introduced in the Star Wars Rebels animated series. Ahsoka took animated characters from Star Wars Rebels and brought them into live-action. We can expect season 2 to further their story.

Ahsoka debuted on August 22, 2023, on Disney+. Its first season consisted of eight episodes, all centered around the aftermath of Rebels. It stars Rosario Dawson as ex-padawan Ahsoka Tano, and follows her after her appearance in The Mandalorian, as she searches for the young Jedi Ezra Bridger. Dave Filoni returned as executive producer, and the show is setting up a crossover event with The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. There will be plenty of other Star Wars series to debut on the streaming service, and we’ll be there to tell the readers about it.
