During the 25th anniversary re-release of The Phantom Menace, fans were treated to a clip of the upcoming Star Wars show, The Acolyte, after the movie. This clip is worth the wait, especially since you have to stay after the credits. If you weren’t hyped for the show before, this clip will hopefully change your mind. The show looks dark, and exciting, especially as it's the first time we can see the High Republic era in show form.

The preview of The Acolyte was short but gave us some insight into what we can expect in the show. We see Mae, played by Amandla Stenberg,  dressed in her Darkside ensemble, confront Master Indara, played by Carrie-Anne Moss. Mae attacks the people sitting with Master Indara until the two duke it out. After failing to get Indara’s lightsaber, Mae flees using the force to help her leap to the second level. She releases a volley of knives, which causes Indara to use the force, to save the civilians in the caninta. This is where the exclusive footage ends. The fights look fluid and expertly choreographed. The camera work is incredible and allows for a thrilling encounter.

We then get treated to various clips from the season, some of which have already been seen. We see glimpses of various High Republic Jedi, such as Dafne Keen’s character, and the Wookie Jedi. We also get a look at the Jedi played by Lee Jung-Jae. He is with a group of Jedi in a forest setting, where a red lightsaber zips their way. They all ignite their blue, green, and yellow lighters, and run into battle against the mysterious Darkside user. These short clips gave fans a better glimpse of the High Republic Jedi robes, and they look awesome. The lightsaber battles in the show, look like they’re going to be great, and will be on par with the recent ones we have seen in the Disney+ shows.

Even though The Acolyte is releasing in June, not much is known about the series. It will be the first show set in the High Republic era of Star Wars and takes place about 200 years before the events of The Phantom Menace

The Acolyte will have a two-episode premiere on June 4th on Disney+.
