Nothing lasts forever, especially in gaming. In an industry where systems are often only popular for a few years before being replaced by their more powerful successors, you get mixed reviews on how previous versions are seen. Some turn their noses up at previous systems. Others take advantage of the low prices and play the now cheap alternatives. Some, however, love the nostalgic experience of playing games from their past. However, fans of the Xbox 360 will soon lose a large part of that nostalgia.

According to an announcement by Microsoft, the Xbox 360 marketplace will close soon, on July 29th of Next year. Fans of the console however should know that this does not completely kill the console. Although this will mark the end of fans being able to purchase games for the platform, it is not the end entirely. Although games and DLC will no longer be purchasable, those already bought can still be played. Furthermore, already purchased games may be re-downloaded if you have deleted them for some reason. Games will still be able to be saved and played online via the cloud. Furthermore, backward games from both Xbox 360 and even the original Xbox will still be able to be purchasable on Xbox One and Xbox series X|S.
