As summer wears on, the release date for Ahsoka draws nearer, and the excitement builds. Dave Filoni has already confirmed it’s the fifth season of Rebels, and per the reveal at Celebration, Thrawn is the big bad. That said, a common concern among Star Wars fans is the timeline. Many want to know exactly when Ahsoka takes place in the overall timeline.

That information is now known. According to Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who plays Sabine Wren, Ahsoka takes place at the same time as season three of The Mandalorian. For those who are not familiar with when that is, season three takes place about seven years after Return of the Jedi.

She revealed this when talking about Dave Filoni’s culminating movie for the era, telling SFX Magazine that all the shows are linked, making everything feel connected. Filoni’s movie was, of course, one of the big announcements of Celebration this year, claiming it to be a grand finale to the period after Return of the Jedi, which includes The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew. Many fans speculate that Thrawn is the big bad of the whole thing, but that has not been confirmed anywhere.

If fans are wondering if Bordizzo is in the Filoni movie, they’ll have to wait longer. She confirmed that she has no idea if she will be in it or not. It makes her happy, she said, because it means she doesn’t have to lie to anyone.

Ahsoka premiers on Disney+ on August 23.
