The Galaxy is expanding, and the origins of the Jedi are waiting to be told by a not-so-new storyteller. Andor writer Beau Willimon has been added to James Marigold’s Star Wars movie. Tentatively titled Dawn of the Jedi, the film is set in the distant past, focusing on the origins of the Force and the Jedi. It was unveiled during last year’s Star Wars Celebration in London. This isn’t the only Star Wars film in development, as The Mandalorian & Grogu is scheduled for a May 22, 2026 release. It will likely take a while before Dawn of the Jedi is ready to be released.

In addition to his work on AndorBeau Willimon is well known for his work on Netflix’s House of Cards, one of the streaming giant’s first big hits. He also co-wrote the political thriller The Ides of March, starring George Clooney and Ryan Gosling, and created the space drama The First for Hulu. Willimon wrote three episodes for Andor, including 'One Way Out,' a prison break story featuring Andy Serkis. This episode won the writer an Emmy nomination.
