It’s been quite the rollercoaster year for Cartoon Network’s Craig of the Creek; in this case, it’s bringing the ride to an end. The show is officially a casualty of the merger that formed Warner Bros. Discovery

It was announced in January that WarnerMedia Kids and Family had renewed not only Craig of the Creek for season 5 but also greenlit Jessica’s Little Big World as a preschool-aimed spinoff series for Cartoonito and a TV movie. In April, WarnerMedia and Discovery merged to become Warner Bros. Discovery, and what ensued was an attack on scripted programming, especially for children and families. Whether it was removing programs from HBO Max or forcing movies and series in development greenlit for them to find another destination, In October, it was revealed on Twitter that the orders for both Craig and Jessica’s Little Big World had been halved. Being a black-centric series, it only added to the poor optics of many of Zaslav’s decisions.

There were seven written that will go unproduced because of the cut. The movie is still coming but will have far less ahead of it than one would’ve imagined at greenlight. The movie, the fifth and final season of the showand Jessica’s Little Big World are all expected to premiere next year.
