Miraculous has enjoyed tremendous success as a franchise, with Cat Noir and Ladybug being rather recognizable superheroes. With six seasons to its name, spin-offs, and even a movie, it seems the “tales” of our two favorite Parisian teenage heroes have explored nearly every medium imaginable. However, now, it has been revealed that the heavily anime-influenced franchise is getting an anime of its own: Miraculous: Stellar Force. Disney quickly snapped up the distribution rights from Miraculous Corp, a joint venture between Mediawan and ZAG.
The series will be the franchise’s first original spin-off, and rather than follow just two superheroes in Paris, France, it will follow 12 students at an international school in the capital of Japan who discover they are the guardians of the Stellar Matrix, a fractured cosmic weapon. These students, under the guidance and leadership of Miki, Mayonette, and Yu Lu, will have to overcome their differences in order to team up and save the world.

Andy Yeatman, the current CEO of Miraculous Corp, USA, had this to say regarding the franchise’s expansion:
“With ‘Stellar Force,’ we’re expanding the ‘Miraculous’ universe in bold and exciting directions, with a completely new team, setting, and mythology, while staying true to the values that made ‘Miraculous’ a global phenomenon. Kids around the world will see themselves reflected in these diverse, relatable heroes navigating friendship, identity and teamwork amidst epic cosmic stakes. With its blend of action and comedy and unforgettable characters, ‘Stellar Force’ is a fresh take on what it means to be a hero and perfectly positioned to become an instant classic.”
Miraculous World: Stellar Force will premiere with the one-hour special, Miraculous: Tokyo Stellar Force. The series itself will premiere in 2027 on Disney Channel and Disney+, and it will mark a new chapter for the franchise as it celebrates its 10th anniversary.
