The American web series Critical Role announced new beta playtesting for their upcoming Daggerheart release, beginning on March 12th. Beta testing of the game in any format, digital or at home, is completely free. The call is open to all fans, players, and designers interested in trying the new board game. The publisher asks for honest feedback from fans on how the game plays.

Daggerheart shares elements from Dungeons & Dragons and asks players to develop exciting new worlds to create a shared experience for long-term campaigns. Players are required to roll one dice called HOPE and another called FEAR, both of which are 12-sided. Ancestry and Community cards enable players to enhance their character's skills and capabilities within the game. Also, Subclass and Domain cards allow players to enhance their combat abilities.

Home playtest packets can be ordered from www.daggerheart.com, but digital playtesting, which implements a character creation tool, is also available.

Critical Role asks anyone who wishes to participate to be over the age of 18 and to do their best to “break the game.” Feedback will be requested through a survey offered on their website. Depending upon the volume of feedback and necessary adjustments, Critical Role anticipates the public release of Daggerheart at some point in 2025.
