Damon Lindelof’s Secret ‘Star Wars’ Project Attaches The Director Of ‘Ms. Marvel’

A secret Star Wars film is being developed by Damon Lindelof, with Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy assigned as director.

The latest report coming from Deadline reveals this information from sources close to the project. Though Lindelof has been developing this film, being just one co-writer for the project, those sources say that Lucasfilm and Lindelof wanted a director assigned early so that their vision for the story can be worked into the script.

That director being Obaid-Chinoy, coming from her successful directing duties of several episodes of Ms. Marvel. Her past successes have seen her becoming a sought-after director, having won numerous awards for the documentaries Saving Face and A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness. Lindelof has also seen many successes through awards, with his work on both Lost and Watchmen winning at numerous shows.

While it is unknown as yet what this Star Wars film will be about, it is another addition to the growing list of upcoming films within the release pipeline. Having seen heavy focus on TV series after 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker, Disney and Lucasfilm have slowly been working to release new films within the franchise. The first of these will be Taika Waititi’s untitled project set for release at the end of 2023.
