D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, had a ton of announcements this year. We especially had tons of theme park announcements, including news rides and parks. But it seems that not everything we got was what the fans were expecting. So what was missing? Avatar Land, an upcoming part of Disney California Adventure, was only briefly talked about, only showing a scale model of what it’ll look like. The developing Abu Dubai park was briefly mentioned at the beginning of the expo, but never again. Meanwhile, we didn’t receive any updates about potential refurbishments for Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom or Disney World’s Tomorrowland, two long-running iconic rides, though other versions of the rides will be changing. There were no updates on the Play! Pavilion, still closed off to the public after years.

We got everything we could know about Disneyland’s upcoming attraction, except for an opening timeline. The speculated change of Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe to Tiana’s Palace, and we were missing shopping, dining, and additional entertainment from the Villains Land news. Monstropolis was also missing an opening timeline, as were the new Pueblo Esperanza rides. The New BoardWalk experiences were missing, as was the Lakeshore Lodge. Finally, no cruises from Japan were announced. Still, there was a ton of news about parks and other stuff, much of which is already on our website.
