A first look has been given for the costumes of the latest Doctor and Ruby Sunday, pleasing the fans of the franchise.  Millie Gibson has a prep-meets-casual look that creates an interesting tone for the character.  The costume reveal does Ncuti Gatwa complete justice, making the actor look snazzy yet approachable.

The design for the Fifteenth Doctor toes the line of dark academia crossed with popping colors, an interesting parallel to the Thirteenth Doctor’s more colorful, casual design.  The actor is wearing several pieces of jewelry, including necklaces and several rings; they look cool and could possibly have a use that will come to light.  Gatwa has Gallifreyan nail art visible as well, though their meanings and translations have yet to be confirmed.

Gibson’s character doesn’t have a lot of detail as of yet, things are being kept under wraps.  This costume reveal could lead to speculation about who she will be as the Doctor’s companion, though.  It has a lighter vibe compared to Gatwa’s character, also leaning more into a casual appearance compared to him.  Only time will tell of course, but these bits of detail could be pretty important.

The Doctor Who fandom has some of the most detailed, devoted cosplayers, so the reveal will function as perfect reference images as well.  These costumes aren’t so complicated that they will be inaccessible for the average cosplayer to replicate, and they aren’t so basic that they make for a boring, unengaging look.
