News about the upcoming fourth film in the Fear Street franchise has been slow, but we finally have a trailer! We finally got our first look at the cast, setting, and masked killer whom we had gotten glimpses of in the teaser that was released in March. The trailer begins with scenes that look like they were filmed on an old camcorder, which tells us the date is May 23, 1988. We then get to meet the cast of characters and get a glimpse into the roles they play within the school. Everything seems like normal high school stuff until we get our first look at a killer wearing a red raincoat and a mask that is twisted in pain and features a nasty wound on the side of the face. The trailer quickly picks up pace and makes it clear that this is going to be a bloody prom.
The film is based on the novel of the same name by R.L. Stine. It will bring fans back to Shadyside, which we haven’t been to since 2021 when we got the Fear Street Trilogy. It is not clear yet if this film will be related to the first three. This film will follow a group of high school students as they get ready for prom night, and the race for Prom Queen heats up. The main question everyone will be asking is, “Where are all the prom queens?”
You can currently stream the Fear Street Trilogy on Netflix, and Fear Street: Prom Queen will hit the streaming platform on May 23.
