'Hadestown' West End Performance Coming To Cinemas In North America

The stage production known as Hadestown will be getting a theatrical release as Hadestown: The Musical it has been announced. Captured during one of the showings, this release will star the five original principal Broadway cast members. It will be the first Broadway live capture that Crosswalk and LD Entertainment will release as part of a new deal to showcase stage productions in theatres.
Proving to be a hit when it was just an indie theatre project by Anaïs Mitchell, Hadestown brings modern American folk music and New Orleans-inspired jazz together for a tale of love in the underworld. Young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and his wife Persephone share this story of industry and nature, doubt and faith, and fear and love.
The five Broadway stars featuring in this filming of the production are Reeve Carney as Orpheus, André De Shields as Hermes, Amber Gray as Persephone, Eva Noblezada as Eurydice, and Patrick Page as Hades. The West End cast includes Lauren Azania, Francessca Daniella-Baker, Tiago Dhondt Bamberger, Bella Brown, Lucinda Buckley, Madeline Charlemagne, Allie Daniel, Winny Herbert, Ryesha Higgs, Waylon Jacobs, Miriam Nyarko, and Christopher Short.
Producer Mara Isaacs stated of the announcement, “We are eager to share this iconic performance of Hadestown, featuring a unique combination of our original Broadway cast and West End company, made for the big screen. A great deal of love and care has gone into capturing the show on film, allowing it to live beyond the stage and reach new audiences around the world for years to come.”
