When it comes to video games, James Bond has had some hits. While not all of them have been culture-shifting, 1997’s Goldeneye is widely beloved, and its multiplayer is considered some of the best. I, however, did not get a game console until the GameCube, so I put those hours into Nightfire with my siblings. It makes sense that James Bond would work as a video game. With a rich cast of characters, guns, car chases, sneaking around exotic locations doing spy stuff with cool gadgets, and all of the other stuff Bond is known for, it’s honestly surprising that we don’t have more Bond games.
We might not have a ton, but we are getting a new one soon. IO Interactive is releasing a new James Bond game for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch 2, and PC in 2026. In it, we meet a 26-year-old Bond as he takes his first steps into the world of being the suave super spy we all know and love. So far, we don’t have much information about the story and gameplay, nor an exact release date, but those details are expected to come within the year. We haven’t gotten a Bond game since the disastrous 007 Legends in 2012. Hopefully, this game can get things back on the right track.
