Following the considerable success of Superman (2025) at the box office and with generally positive reception to many elements of the superhero romp, James Gunn is reportedly looking at developing two new TV spinoffs from the film.

The characters he is supposedly considering include Edi Gathegi‘s Mister Terrific and Skyler Gisondo‘s Jimmy Olsen, and these projects would join many others currently in development at Warner Bros. Television. Among these include Lanterns, which will feature Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, and Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner, who is also making an appearance in Peacemaker Season 2, releasing near the end of August 2025. Then there is Paradise Lost, the Amazon-focused project set on Paradise Island and set to tackle the politics of the region’s inhabitants. Gunn recently commented that progress on that show was slowly moving along.

Where exactly these two new spin-offs could fit into such a busy future schedule is unclear, though when James Gunn and Peter Safran initially revealed the DCU’s revamp, they promised an astounding two live-action films, two live-action TV series, one animated film, and two animated TV series per year. It may be that Gunn is looking to make true on this promise, and that these new spinoffs will seamlessly be incorporated into the developing schedule without issue.

We’ll have to wait and see for news on these reportedly planned spinoffs, but with Superman’s ongoing success, details might crystallize quite soon as Warner Bros. eagerly looks to make use of their long-needed win.
