James Gunn took to Twitter on Saturday to celebrate the 44th anniversary of Superman, starring Christopher Reeves. Gunn’s tweet featured the film's poster, but from there, Gunn’s followers began to send over questions to the new creative CEO of DC Films about the future of Superman in the company’s developing ten-year plan.

One user tweeted Gunn explaining how fans worldwide have “...been starved of the greatest comic book character on the big screen for ages.” Gunn responded, “Superman is a huge priority, if not the biggest priority.” His tweet came as good news; fans began questioning Henry Cavill’s future in the franchise, with one fan declaring, “James Gunn does not like Henry Cavill.” Gunn was prompted to debunk this claim and replied, “Sure: false.” His answer calmed rumors of any feud between the two; however, it does not secure Henry Cavill as DC Films' next Superman at this time of this writing.
