John Tuturro is coming to a theater near you! Deadline is reporting that the Turturro vehicle, The Only Living Pickpocket in New York, will be released by Sony Pictures Classics this fall.

A prominent character actor, John Turturro is best known for his roles in Do the Right Thing, Barton Fink, Quiz Show, The Big Lebowski, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Transformers, and The Batman. The film is directed by Noah Segan (who previously directed the Shudder film Blood Relatives), best known for appearing in every film directed by Rian Johnson.,

The film also stars Giancarlo Esposito, Tatiana Maslany, Steve Buscemi, Lori Tan Chinn, and Segan’s Knives Out co-star, Jamie Lee Curtis. T-Street, a production founded by Rian Johnson and producing partner Ram Bergman, handled production.

The Only Living Pickpocket in New York was screened at the Sundance Film Festival back in January and premiered out of competition at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival. The film received positive reviews for Turturros’s performance, Segan’s direction and screenplay, and its tone. Given its planned fall release window, Sony likely expects the film to be an awards contender, which is possible given its positive reception on the festival circuit.

The Only Living Pickpocket in New York will be released sometime this fall.
