'Toy Story 5' To Be Scored By Randy Newman

We still “have a friend” in a film scoring legend! It’s officially been confirmed that Randy Newman will provide the score for Toy Story 5. It will be Newman’s 10th Pixar score, the most of any composer who has worked for the legendary studio.

Randy Newman is a musical legend who requires no introduction. Since 1968, Newman has remained one of the most acclaimed songwriters and composers in the game. His studio albums, particularly Sail AwayGood Old BoysLittle CriminalsHarps and Angels, and Dark Matter, are considered among the greatest of all time. He was inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

Outside of his reputable songwriting work, Newman has a prolific film resume. Some of Newman’s most acclaimed and well-known film work includes Ragtime, The Natural, Avalon, Pleasantville, The Princess and the Frog, and Marriage Story. Newman began his collaboration with Pixar on the original Toy Story in 1995 and has since scored every Toy Story sequel, A Bug’s Life, Monsters, Inc, Cars, Monsters University, and Cars 3. Throughout his storied career, Newman has received 22 Oscar nominations, winning for If I Didn’t Have You from Monsters, Inc. and We Belong Together from Toy Story 3.

Toy Story 5 falls with style into theaters on June 19th.
