Disney’s Frozen franchise stars Josh Gad, Idina Menzel, and Kristen Bell, who play Olaf, Elsa, and Princess Anna, respectively, will reportedly receive $60 million each in salary for their work on the upcoming animated feature-length films, with Frozen 3 and Frozen 4 expected to bring the tale to its epic conclusion.
The Wrap reported that, in addition to a lump-sum payout, Gad, Menzel, and Bell will also have the opportunity to earn additional awards based on each sequel's box office performance. Earnings of this magnitude have garnered the trio some attention, as they are significantly higher than the $15 million they each earned in Frozen 2.

Disney saw the original film gross $1.28 billion in 2013, and Frozen 2 topped it, earning $1.45 billion in 2019. The House of Mouse likely expects the final two films to exceed their predecessors. We do not know anything about the expected storyline, only that it must be rich enough in plot points to span two movies. Many fans expect to see how married life is treating Anna and Kristoff and hope to see Elsa have a love interest. The franchise’s writer and director, Jennifer Lee, spoke briefly on the topic at the D23 Expo in 2024 while showing the crowd some early concept art for the films. She commented, “Coming out of Frozen 2, we still have some questions. A lot of questions actually. Now, you see why we need two films to tell this story.”
Fans will unfortunately have to wait a while to see where the story is headed, as Frozen 3 isn’t expected to hit theaters until November 24, 2027.
