Following a brief hiatus, the hit anime Jujutsu Kaisen has returned to kick off the second half of its sophomore season. While the first half of Jujutsu Kaisen Season Two explored the lives and origins of best friends-turned-arch enemies Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto in the “Hidden Inventory/Premature Death Arc”, the second half, titled the “Shibuya Incident Arc” puts the main protagonist Yuuji Itadori front and center once again as the ongoing battle between the Jujutsu Sorcerers and Geto’s growing army of cursed spirits comes to a violent head which raises the stakes beyond any of the previous battles witnessed in the anime thus far, or its prequel film, Jujutsu Kaisen 0.

Jujutsu Kaisen is based on the manga of the same name by Gege Akutami, and began publication in 2018, with the anime adaptation released in 2020. Like the “Hidden Inventory Arc”, the “Shibuya Incident Arc” is directed by Shota Goshozono, its screenplay written by Hiroshi Seko, and animated by MAPPA. A new arc also brings a new opening and ending. The J-Pop group King Gnu, who also produced songs for Jujutsu Kaisen 0, returned to the franchise with the new opening theme, “SPECIALZ”. The ending theme, “more than words,” is produced by the group Hitsujibungaku.

New episodes stream on Thursdays at 10:30am PDT on Crunchyroll.
