Even though the event is called The Game Awards, it’s much more than awards. The show also features plenty of new announcements regarding upcoming games. In fact, there tend to be more announcements than awards. One of the first trailers shown this year was for an upcoming game from Larian Studios, which also made Baldur’s Gate 3, for their new Divinity game, and the trailer is wild.

We first see a man chained up in a huge structure. The mood then changes, and there are people celebrating in the streets. There’s dancing, food, violence, and even sex. A mysterious figure takes a torch and lights up the huge structure that contains the man. He gets burned alive, and his skin is ripped apart.

It’s a gruesome scene. It ends with an amalgamation of the man and various other bodies in a giant circle-type structure.

The trailer did not reveal much to us about what the game was about. Larian has said, however, that this game will be bigger than Baldur’s Gate 3. They have also announced that the game will be turn-based, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to fans. Unfortunately, there is no current release date, so don’t expect this game anytime soon.
