Lucasfilm Held Special Screening Of 'Maul - Shadow Lord' On Good Friday

On Good Friday, lucky fans were treated to an early screening of the new animated Star Wars adventure at Lucasfilm in San Francisco. The fan screening event featured the first two episodes of Maul - Shadow Lord. There were also looks at concept art from the series and new merchandise that will be released. Merchandise, which includes action figures, clothing, Funko Pops, and a full-size replica lightsaber available at Disney Parks and on the Disney Store.
Lucasfilm presidents Dave Filoni and Lynwen Brennan welcomed fans to the screening, where it wasn’t long before Sam Witwer, voice of Maul, also appeared on stage to hype things up. A Q&A session was held during the event, which also included Kristen Baver, Matt Michnovetz, Athena Yvette Portillo, and Brad Rau.
Maul - Shadow Lord is a series showing Maul building up his criminal enterprise after the events of Order 66 and the transition of the Republic to the Empire. This first season of ten episodes sees the action take place on Janix, where Maul is causing chaos in the underworld while also taking on a new apprentice in disillusioned Jedi Padawan Devon Izara.
The first two episodes are already available on Disney+, with new episodes following each week until Star Wars Day on May 4. A second season has already been confirmed to be in production.
