As Tom Holland dons the Spidey suit to prepare for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, a Marvel co-star is joining the film. The first three films saw Tom Holland’s Spider-Man paired up with Tony Stark, Nick Fury, and Dr. Strange. In this fourth outing, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will be part of the superhero’s adventure. A loose end left over from Holland’s debut in Spider-Man: Homecoming will also be addressed. Michael Mando will return to the role of Scorpion. The villain encountered the Vulture in prison at the end of the film, but the Vulture concealed Peter’s identity from him.

Due to the events of No Way Home, it’s unlikely that the Vulutre still knows the secret identity. However, the focus shifting away from New York and to Europe, outer space, and the multiverse left little time to focus on characters on the ground. The return of Scorpion suggests a more local adventure for Spidey. But there’s one more twist. Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as Punisher, which will be the first time the antihero appears on the big screen in the MCU. The Punisher previously appeared in the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, but his last movie appearance was back in 2008 in Punisher: War Zone. While the plot details are still concealed, the confirmed cast of characters provides some hints about the direction of the story. Brand New Day lands in theaters on July 31, 2026.
