There’s been no shortage of updates concerning the production of season two of The Rings of Power. From fires on the set, horses having heart attacks, and filming relocations, there’s certainly plenty of information coming on the progress and setbacks of season two. The latest comes from Redanian Intelligence. They recently posted a picture from the set that showed Maxim Baldry, who plays Isildur, and newcomer Nia Towle in Frensham Little Pond in Surrey.

Surrey has been the main location for filming during the second season process after the first season’s primary filming in New Zealand. The photo depicts a battered looking Isildur and his new companion emerging from a forest. The last we saw of Isildur was when he went into a burning building to rescue a fellow Númenorean after the eruption of Mount Doom.

It’s well known that Isildur lives, as he’s the one who finds the One Ring after his father severs it from Sauron’s hand at the end of the Second Age. Who Nia Towle is playing is, as yet, unconfirmed, but it’s reasonable to guess it’s someone who survived the destruction of the eruption and comes across Isildur after he gets out of the abandoned village, or it’s someone who finds him and helps him recover.

Baldry and Towle are not the only actors seen on location during filming. Daniel Weyman, who plays The Stranger was seen on location in Spain filming Nori and his journey to the Rhun.

Season two of The Rings of Power is set to release sometime in 2024, but season one is available now on Prime Video.
