Last week, Amazon released a teaser trailer for their live-action Fallout series based on the popular video game. At the 2023 Game Awards, the studio released new footage from the show. The new minute-long trailer starts with a black-and-white video of a man calling for lights. Once the lights turn on, viewers can see a nuclear reactor behind him. The footage quickly switches to color and shows the Brotherhood of Steel, led by Aaron Moten’s Maximus, marching in step. Finally, the trailer focuses on the series heroine and former Vault Dweller Lucy, played by Ella Purnell. The footage also reveals other Vault Dwellers, the Yao Guai, a giant axolotl, and the canine companion Dogmeat from the game.

The other character in focus in the trailer is Walter Goggins’ The Ghoul. According to game lore, ghouls are humans who were exposed to so much radiation that they mutated into entirely new organisms. The series takes place 200 years after the nuclear explosion that made living in Vaults necessary. Like the game, Lucy and others will leave the safety of their vaults to explore the post-apocalyptic world. The new series is considered canon to the game’s lore. Fallout will premiere on April 12 on Prime Video.
